Sanatorium

Our pupils’ well-being is important to us. As such, we encourage our pupils to openly communicate with us. Numerous channels exist for communication – from form teachers, hostel parents, Shadow Group Mums and Dads to stewards and dorm leaders, to name a few.
We believe in the culture of celebration and as such, the Welfare Committee ensures that everyone receives a little token on their birthdays.

Health Issues – Sanatorium

A fully qualified Registered General Nurse is based at out Sanatorium and is on call 24-hours a day. She looks after the
general health and welfare of pupils. She also attends sports functions, prepares first aid bags for ‘away matches’ and
makes arrangements with other healthcare facilities for the treatment of sick or injured children whether ‘at home’ or
‘away’.

A fully qualified doctor visit the Sanatorium once a week to check on any pupils with minor injuries or health
problems and gives further medical assistance whenever needed.

In emergencies, pupils are attended to at the local private hospital. Midlands Christian College has country-wide
coverage with MARS in case of emergency. All staff have also received basic first aid training.
