Harare Golf Day – Takes place at Chapman Golf Club on Friday 24 May. For entries please email us on sport@mcc.ac.zw – RTGS100 per player. Parents are also invited to join us for the evening prize giving and auction where the MCC Band will provide a bit of entertainment. 

 

Africa Day – Boarder Family Bonding Day – Will take place between 11am and 4pm at the hostels on Saturday 25 May. We extend the invitation to you as parents to join us for this event. You are reminded to dress in African attire and those who would like to join us for a traditional lunch for a small fee are to please book meals on dndhlela@mcc.ac.zw by the end of today. Please note that all visitors for this event have to either be on your child’s signing out list, or accompanied by someone who is. 

Congratulations – To the four of our pupils who will be attending the Cambridge Awards Ceremony tomorrow night in Harare:

  • Simon Tivavenge – for Top in Zimbabwe in Physics for the Cambridge International ‘AS’ Level examination series of June 2018
  • Anthony Chikowore – for Top in Zimbabwe in English Language for the Cambridge International ‘AS’ Level examination series of June 2018
  • Tadiwanashe Takaendisa – for Top in Zimbabwe in Combined Science for the Cambridge IGCSE examination series of June 2018
  • Tirimunashe Shumba – for Top in Zimbabwe in Agriculture for the Cambridge IGCSE examination series of November 2018

Congratulations – To Mr Chimbuya, Elizabeth Msipa, and MCS pupil Nicole Mugwadhi who represented the country at the COSSASA games in Eswatini earlier this month. Both pupils reached the finals for their individual disciplines. Elizabeth’s results are as follows: 4th in the 100m and 200m events, and a bronze medal as part of the medley relay.

 

Lower 6 Camp – Reminder that camp fees are payable into the school account by Friday 24 May. Camp is 3 – 7 June. 

Advance Notice – Parents Assembly Harare Dinner – Will be held on the Saturday of Exeat Weekend – 22 June. Details to follow. Please diarise this date and set aside some money for tickets. 

Exeat Weekend – Starts at 1pm on Thursday 20 June. Lessons resume Tuesday 25 June. All boarders should go home for this long weekend. Note that the 1st Team Soccer Team will however be involved in the CHISZ Soccer Tournament over this weekend at Hillcrest College – Traveling Thursday, returning Sunday.  

Exeat Weekend Buses – Those in the Lowveld and based in Hwange and Victoria Falls are to indicate interest in a bus service for exeat weekend on admin@mcc.ac.zw. An update will then be given. Harare bus ticket costs should be confirmed next week. Note that in all cases – all tickets are subject to our confirmation which will only be done on receipt of full payment.
