Information Resource Centre Project

A few years ago a decision was taken by the Parents’ Body of Midlands Christian College to undertake the design and construction of an Information Resource Centre. This multipurpose building is to consist of a library; careers resource centre; audio-visual resource room and an auditorium.

The visuals below illustrate the details of the project.

This is a large scale project with an estimated construction cost of approximately USD1 200 000.

Parents have supported this endeavour through payments of a levy towards this project on a termly basis, as well as fundraising activities such as a ‘Buy-a-Brick’ campaign; golf and fun days, and even through donations. Our pupils are also actively involved in fundraising for this project through activities such as the ‘Earn-a-Brick’ campaign. Money raised so far has covered the initial ground work of designs involving architects and quantity surveyors, as well as the approval of designs and the procurement of some materials towards the project.

It is the desire of the school and the Parents Assembly Committee to see ground breaking soon and the completion of this project ensuing, so that both the pupils of Midlands Christian College and the community at large can start to benefit from this facility.

We are looking for partners to join with us to let this vision soon become a physical reality! If you are interested in knowing more or contributing, towards this project – please let us know! The contact person at the school is the Deputy Head – Mrs Deysel – who can be reached on deputyhead2@mcc.ac.zw / 0772 570 772 or the Parents Assembly Committee Chairperson – Mr Tombindo – who can be reached on rtombindo@yahoo.co.uk / 0772 359 500.
