Newsflash 10/1/19

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to 2019! We are the ‘pioneers’ of 2019 so this year is ours to build dreams in, as per this year’s theme – “The Year of Building Dreams”. We encourage you to partner with your children as they ascertain and build their dreams; and with us as we work to ensure that dreams are established and fulfilled.

CIE AS & A2 results are released today and will be accessible to pupils once downloaded. For access code enquiries – please contact the Exams Department Directly on exams@mcc.ac.zw

CIE IGCSE & GCE results will be released on Thursday 17 January. The same procedure will be followed as with the AS & A2 results.

Lower 6 lessons have started. It is not advisable that Lower 6s remain at home waiting for the release of O Level results. As indicated before, the syllabus is a full one and all available time must be used. Please also note that there are limited hostel places remaining.

Indemnity & IT Policy Forms need to be signed and returned if you have not yet done so.

First Term key calendar events can be found on the website – www.mcc.ac.zw. A comprehensive calendar will be circulated in due course. However, please go ahead and diarise the following key dates:

  • Tuesday 19 February – Interhouse Gala – U16s and above
  • Wednesday 20 February – Parents Assembly AGM – 11am
  • Wednesday 20 February from 1pm – Exeat Weekend when all pupils must go home. Lessons resume Tuesday 26 February. Borders return to hostel between 12noon & 5pm on 25 February
  • Saturday 9 March – Fun Day
  • Saturday 16 March – Interhouse Athletics (Compulsory attendance for all pupils)
  • Saturday 6 April – ACSI Athletics Meet (Compulsory attendance for all pupils)

Swimming is COMPULSORY this term for all Form 1, Form 3, Form 4, Lower 6 & Upper 6 pupils. Please ensure your child has the correct swimming costume.

Communication is important to us. Be sure to regularly check your emails. The PULSE is sent out on Tuesdays, and the Newsflash generally goes out on Wednesdays. Remember as well that we welcome your input and comments either directly to us or through the Parents Assembly Committee.
