Newsflash 10/1/24

Dear Parents and Guardians, 

Term 1 Calendar:

Please see the attached Midlands Christian Group of Schools Calendar. Please take time to review it. All pupils have been given a copy of this. Specific things to draw to your attention:

  • 2 February – Deadline for May-June CIE registrations and payments.
  • 15 February – Parenting Seminar – 9am, Parents Assembly AGM 11am, day scholars and boarders to go home at 1pm. 
  • 20 February – Lessons resume
  • 23 February – Grade 6 & 7 Open Day 
  • 24 February – Inter house athletics – Compulsory. University representatives visit to meet with parents and pupils – 9:30am – 12noon. 
  • 1 March – Parents Assembly Harare Golf Day – Chapman Golf Club
  • 4 March – 6 March – NIAA Vocal and Instrumental Festival – Gweru 
  • 6 March – Senior Inter house Gala 
  • 8 March – 10 March – Father-Son Camp 
  • 15 March – Careers Corporates Day
  • 16 March – ACSI Invitational Athletics – Compulsory 
  • Monday 25 March – Beginners Gala 
  • Tuesday 26 March – Consultation – Fm 1, 4 & Upper 6; Lower 6 Forum

Cambridge Examination Result Release:

AS and A2 results were received today and the results analysis will be released in due course. IGCSE results will be released on Thursday 18 January. Lower 6 lessons are underway on provisional subject combinations. Adjustments will be made if necessary  on review of final results.

2024 May-June Cambridge Examination Registration:  

Registration and payments for the May-June Cambridge examinations will run from Monday 15 January to Friday 2 February, 2024. Registration forms will be circulated next week. 

2024 Form 1 Orientation Camp:

Day scholars are to be at the bus shed by 5:30am on Monday 15 January. Campers should be back by 3pm on Friday 19 January. A reminder that the pocket money guide is USD20-USD50, no gadgets are allowed on camp and day scholars should seek prophylactic malarial medication before departure (boarders will be given theirs through the Sanatorium).

Medical Information: 

It is important that the school is informed of any medical conditions pertaining to your child and the medications or doctors’ recommendations. Communication should be directed  to the school’s Health Officer on admin@mcc.ac.zw. The School Sanatorium number is 054 – 2227793.
