Newsflash 13/6/19

Dear Parents and Guardians,

An Important Update from Academics:

In an effort to cut costs on the purchase of textbooks we have engaged an overseas company, Kognity, to supply us with digital textbooks which our students can access via their iPads or laptops. We are currently on a two month trial period from June to July for the following subjects: IGCSE Biology, IGCSE Chemistry, IGCSE Combined Science, IGCSE Physics and IGCSE Extended and Core Mathematics. All Form 3 and Form 4 students have been registered for the trial period and it will be important for every student to benefit from this facility which is highly interactive and in synch with the digital world where most of our students are comfortable to explore and learn with ease. After the trial period we will be able to subscribe for a two year period starting from August 2019.

Below are some of the features on the Kognity learning platform:

Teacher benefits

  • Content is designed by curriculum experts with 100% coverage and alignment to the Cambridge curriculum
  • Embedded statistics to track and analyse students’ performance
  • Personalised learning is made easier through automatically corrected assignments

Students benefits

  • Kognity shows students’ strengths and weaknesses to help them study more effectively
  • Students have the opportunity to work through the exam practice Centre with 1000s of questions to help them prepare for final exams
