Newsflash 13/7/22

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Internal Examinations: Come to an end at 1pm on Friday. The results of these along with teacher comments on your child’s overall performance for this term will be available to you on the Senatical Platform at the end of term. 

Lower 6 Parents Forum: A reminder that this very important meeting is scheduled for 6:15pm tomorrow night – 14 July. Please make use of the Zoom details and documents sent separately to you.

Lower 6 Camp: Pupils to be at the bus shed by 7:10am on Monday 18 July. Pupils will be back at school by 1pm on Friday 22 July. Note that there is compulsory afternoon sports support on this day so day scholars may be collected at 4:30pm.

Form 2 Day Outing: Pupils to be at the bus shed by 6:10am on Monday 18 July. Pupils will be back at school by 5pm. Pupils are to wear casual clothing suitable for team building activities. 

Form 4 Parents Forum: We ask all Form 4 parents to join us at 11am on Thursday 4 August in the school hall for this important meeting. More details to follow.

End of Term Consultation:  Will take place for all Form 4, Lower 6 and Upper 6 pupils on Thursday 4 August between 8am and 1pm in the high school classrooms. Parental attendance is expected. More details to follow. 

End of Term Arrangements: Term 2 ends on Thursday 4 August. Form 1, 2 and 3 boarders may be collected from school between 8am and 1pm on this day. Day scholars for these forms are not expected at school on 4 August. Form 4, Lower 6s and Upper 6s are to leave for the holidays on completion of Consultation with teachers. Please note that all pupils are to be collected by 1pm on Thursday 4 August. We also ask that you respect the end of term programme and do not ask for early release of pupils. 

Celebrate with us! We congratulate Joana Mushede on her selection as a non-traveling reserve for the U18 School Girls National Hockey team.

Celebrate with us! Our students put on a stellar, entertaining performance at the NIAA Speech and Drama Honours Festival. Not only was it a privilege to be invited, they also received the following cups and we are exceptionally proud of them!

The Upper 6 mime group were awarded 3 trophies:

  • SARAH JANE MUNN TROPHY – Most Creative Group
  • ENA STONE MIME CUP – Best Mime
  • BATH CUP – Best Senior Item

Sharon Marangwanda & Theodore Masi were also invited to perform and were awarded the following trophy:

  • NIAA DUOLOGUE CUP – Best Duologue – any age

Our Chinese programme continues to cause pupils to excel. In the 2022 Chinese Bridge Competition, MCC took a clean sweep in the top three spots in the high school competition.

Sport Support: A reminder of this weekend’s compulsory sports support for pupils. Parents are urged to attend as well. Pupils to be at the basketball courts by 10:30am. Day Scholars must be collected at 4pm. Day scholars to bring light refreshments/snacks and are encouraged to bring money to buy lunch from the Parents Assembly who will be catering for this event. Pupils are to be dressed in No 1s. 

War Cry Practice:

Is compulsory for all pupils on Friday 15 July 2pm – 3pm. Day scholars to bring packed lunch and only be collected at 3pm.
