Newsflash 22/6/23

Dear Parents and Guardians,

CIE Examinations Registration Deadline – 30 June – 8 days left to please conclude CIE October – November registrations. Please visit or contact our Examinations Department for any assistance needed to meet this deadline.

Please note that for subjects written in this 2023 May-June examination session, registration will take place after publication of results (10 August – AS-A2 results; 16 August – IGCSE results)

Upcoming Trip Payment Deadline Reminders:

  • Girls Hockey Tour to Cape Town – 24 June.
  • Travel and Tourism Trip to Dubai – 26 June.
  • Upper 6 Geography Trip to Nyanga – 26 June. 
  • Form 4 Geography Trip to Nyanga – 7 July.

National Institute of the Allied Arts Speech and Drama Festival: We continue to have the privilege of hosting a portion of this national event and we look forward to welcoming the top class team of adjudicators and the festival directors next week: 26 – 28 June. Please see the attached programme for details of MCC performances and come along and show your support. 

Chinese Update:

Congratulations to Vongai Mutambara who won the Zimbabwe Chinese Bridge competition on Friday and will be representing our county in the global competition. Well done to Nokutenda Munyanduki who placed 3rd in the same competition and to Miss Maibvisira who was recognised once again as an “Excellent Instructor”. We are proud of our association with the Confucius Institute and the opportunities that it affords our students who often receive handsome monetary awards as well as instances of tertiary education scholarship-part scholarships.

Congratulations – We have a lot to celebrate:

Basketball – Congratulations to Tristan Pararai on his selection into the Midlands 17 and Under team due to take part in national trials. We also congratulate Mr S. Pararai on his appointment to coach this team.

Basketball – To Tanatswa Sisimayi on her selection into the ATS U20 Girls Basketball team that will tour to South Africa in August. 

Soccer – To Nkosilathi Magazi and Asher Mashungupa on their selection into the ATS U20 Soccer team due to travel to Europe later this year!  

Chess – To Jadin Magwenzi and Isheanopa Hove on their selection into the ATS Chess Team that will tour to South Africa soon. 

Spelling Bee – To Tyra Jones and Matifadza Mavesere who will represent the Midlands Team in the national Spelling Bee Competition following their recent successes in the Midlands regional Spelling Bee.
