Newsflash 24/7/19

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome: To Miss Brenda Maruziva who has joined us as the MCC Head’s PA. Miss Hombasha has moved over to the MCGS Office. Miss Maruziva will be dealing with general communications on the admin@mcc.ac.zw address as well as enrolment and Head’s issues. We welcome her aboard!

Celebrate with Us: Congratulations to Leon Maposa who is the first Form 1 student to sit for HSK 1 in June and passed with 90%! All pupils are expected to do the Level 1 and Level 2 HSK examinations which are an examination in basic Chinese and we believe helps to equip our students to be global citizens. 

Congratulations also goes to Ruvarashe Gweredza and Tinashe Chikoko who got 100% in their HSK1 exams. What an excellent achievement! 

Congratulations to Form 1 student Atipaishe Makwangudze who placed first in this year’s Chinese Bridge competition and has earned the privilege of competing at the international competition in China in October. We also congratulate Vusani Ntuli who placed 3rd in the same competition out of 23 participants. 

End of Term Arrangements: Form 1, 2 and 3 pupils are free to leave for the school holidays from 1pm on Tuesday 6 August. Consultation is for all Form 4, Lower 6 and Upper 6 pupils on Wednesday 7 August between 8am and 1pm. Please note that there will be a Lower 6 Forum meeting with ALL Lower 6 parents on Wednesday 7 August at 10:30am – parental attendance is expected. After Consultation, senior pupils are free to leave for the holidays. Please note that ALL boarders are to have left hostel by 5pm on Wednesday 7 August.

End of Term Buses: There will be a bus to Harare on Wednesday 7 August. Harare bus ticket costs are ZWL$100 one way. Payments to be made by 30 JULY. Proof of payment to be sent to bursar@mcc.ac.zw and admin@mcc.ac.zw  Note that in all cases – all tickets are subject to our confirmation which will only be done on receipt of full payment.

Examination Issues – Holiday School: With Cambridge examinations starting at the beginning of October, the holiday school revision programme is designed to consolidate the critical examination skills which will give our candidates advantage in the examinations. Check in for Holiday School will be Sunday 18 August with lessons ending at 1pm on Friday 30 August. Further details will follow.

Gweru Golf Day: Is scheduled for Saturday 3 August. Please see the attached flyer and registration forms.
