Dear Parents and Guardians,

PAC Dinner Update: 

Regrettably due to low response and ticket sales, the Parents Assembly Committee have had to cancel the dinner planned for Harare this Saturday. Thank you to those who showed an interest in the dinner. We appreciate it. 

Top Achievers – Assessment 3:

Congratulations to the following form 1, 2 and 3 students who were top in their year groups for this last academic assessment period:

Form 1: Nyasha Makoni – 6A*s & 3As

Form 2: Rutendo Chidawanyika – 6A*s & 4As

Form 3: Matikudza Chakwesha – 8A*s & 2As

Internal Examinations:

Start next week as follows:

Form 3s: Tuesday 31 October

Form 2s: Thursday 2 November

Form 1s: Thursday 2 November

Lower 6s (Select): – Friday 3 November

The examination period ends on Thursday 9 November.

Please refer to the attached examination timetables for full details. 

Day scholars may be collected from 3:30pm Monday 30 October to Thursday 9 November. On days when an examination ends after 3:30pm, pupils should be collected within 15 minutes of the end time of the examination.

Note that there will be no sport between Monday 30 October and Thursday 9 November.

Lower 6 Lesson Resumption:

A reminder that A2 lessons for all L6 students start on Wednesday 8 November. All Lower 6 students are to be in attendance. 

Form 4 and Upper 6 Clearance Processes:

A reminder that all Form 4 and Upper 6 students are to complete the school’s clearance processes within 24 hours of completion of their final examination. This process includes verification by all subject teachers and various departments that all school textbooks/property/equipment have been returned and that all is in order in your child’s living space in hostel, if they are a boarder. Completing this process in the timely manner expected will ensure no delays in departure gate passes or other administration related issues. 

Invitational Gala – Compulsory Event:

Our junior invitational gala with Petra and Goldridge will take place on Saturday 11 November. Note that this is a compulsory event for all Form 1, 2, and 3 pupils. Parents are encouraged to attend and support our Eagles. 

Chinese Bridge Update:

Our Eagle, Vongai Mutambara, and her teacher, Miss Maibvisira, are now in their second week in China. After ‘coming tops’ in Zimbabwe Vongai is representing our country in the Chinese Bridge competition. She has been acquitting herself well as she has participated in the various competitions which include quiz, singing, speech giving and public speaking – all in Chinese! 

Global Leadership Summit:

We continue to be proud partners with the Global Leadership Summit in Zimbabwe and are pleased to once again have opportunity for all of our Form 1, 2, 3, Lower 6 students and all of our staff to be involved in this year’s global summit. 

Midlands Christian College is one of only 3 host venues in Zimbabwe. Invitation is open to our community to join us for the Gweru chapter of the Summit on Friday 17 November and Saturday 18 November at a cost of $40 per person inclusive of teas, lunches and summit materials. Bookings can be done with reception@mcc.ac.zw / 0777 733 029. For bookings to attend the Harare or Bulawayo chapter of the Summit – please refer to the contact details on the attached flier.  

Note that this a compulsory event for all Form 1, 2, 3 and Lower 6 pupils on 17 and 18 November.
