Newsflash 30/4/24

Dear Parents and Guardians, 

Fee Payment Procedure Reminder:

Advance clearance Admission Slips will be prepared for all who have concluded fee payments and any fee term’s needed with the Bursar, inclusive of submission of proof of payments, by 1pm on Thursday 2 May. Please make use of bursar@mcc.ac.zw and debtors@mcc.ac.zw for these communications. 

Note that after this time, clearance slips will need to be collected from the Bursar’s department during office hours. Bursar representatives will be situated in the school hall on Monday 6 May from 10am to assist with processing. 

Return to School – Boarders:

Boarders are to check in to hostel between 12noon and 5pm on Monday 6 May. 

Lesson Resumption:

Term 2 lessons start on Tuesday 7 May. A reminder that day scholars are expected to be at school by 7:10am daily. 

Examinations Update:

The April – June examination session is underway. A reminder that clearance is required from the Bursars for any boarders who want to be in hostel between Thursday 2 May and Monday 6 May. Please liaise with them on bursar@mcc.ac.zw or debtor@mcc.ac.zw.

Candidates should bring their own stationery in transparent pencil cases – inclusive of pens with dark blue or black ink, B or HB pencils, sharpeners, erasers, and rulers as well as anything subject specific requirements such as calculators and mathematical sets with set squares and protractors. Candidates writing science practicals are reminded to bring white laboratory coats. 

During the term, pupils are allowed the day before their examination to SWOT. We encourage day scholars to SWOT at school so that they can liaise with their teachers for any final assistance. 

Parents Assembly Committee Harare Dinner:

A reminder that tickets are currently on sale for this year’s PAC Fundraising Dinner which will be held at Rainbow Towers on Saturday 22 June. Tickets can be purchased through PAC members or at the school office – $50 per adult and $30 per scholar. 


Day Scholar Bus Service:

Should you be interested in a day scholar bus service, please let us know. 

The shuttle would pick up and drop off along Riverside, Windsor Park, Kopje and Town routes. Costs for this service will be calculated according to responses received and would start in Week 2 of this term. Should you be interested in this service, please let us know on admin@mcc.ac.zw by Friday 3 May. We will then communicate directly with those who have expressed interest. 

School Indemnity Forms:

Please complete and return the attached 2024 school indemnity form to the school office or via email on reception@mcc.ac.zw 

Pre-Season Rugby Update:

Our junior rugby team did a fine job at the St George’s Nutri Active Junior Rugby Festival, putting up a good fight against Falcon despite a 45-12 loss. The team went on to win 25-10 against Bernard Mizeki. 

We wish our senior team all the best as they take on Wiseowl tomorrow, 1 May at 11am, and Rydings on Saturday 4 May at 9am at the St John’s Pure Drop Derby Festival. If you are able, please go along and show our Eagles some support.
