Notice of Parents Assembly AGM

Please be advised of the formal notification of the upcoming Parents Assembly Annual General Meeting which will be at 11:30am on Wednesday 20 February.

Social Welfare Club – Outreach Visit

Social Welfare Club went for a visit at Faith and Light in Mkoba. We arrived at 1430hrs at the home and were welcomed with open arms.

Our programme seemed to to go so quickly but what stood out was Mrs Mhangami’s sharing and the conditions of Faith and Light. Mrs Mhangami shared from John 3 vs 16 and she asked us, “What are you holding – are you holding a ticket to heaven or to hell? Are you holding on to God’s promises or to the world’s pleasures?”

At Faith and Light they are holding on to God’s promises although they have inadequate pot, plates and cups.Their food supply is very low and they are in deep need for mattress as their ones are old and are in tatters

Open your heart and allow God to fulfil His promises through you.

Newsflash 21/11/18

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Signing Out Procedure: You are reminded that requests to sign your child out for a weekend need to be done in writing, with your signature included, and sent to us by WEDNESDAYS.

Consultation Day: For all Form 1, 2 and 3 pupils will take place on Wednesday 5 December between 8am and 1pm in the school hall. Note that Form 2 Forum will take place in the Pavilion at 10:30am. Attendance is expected from all concerned parents for both events.

End of Term Details: Form 1, 2 and 3 pupils leave for the holidays once finished with consultation on Wednesday 5 December. Lower 6s may leave for the holidays from 1pm on Tuesday 4 December. All pupils should have left hostel by 5pm on Wednesday 5 December. Note that pupils are to take all possessions home and as such, there is no school bus service.

Global Leadership Summit (GLS): Here are some short comments and key points which stood out to some of us from last week’s Global Leadership Summit:

“My GLS experience was magnificent. We had inspirational speakers like Craig Groeschel, TD Jakes, Simon Sinek, Sheila Heen and our very own Strive Masiyiwa. These people helped us grown in our leadership and in our faith. They showed support of human equality and women empowerment. They talked about what it takes to be an exemplary leader. Thank you MCC for this wonderful two days!” @Tatenda Chigwanda 1J

“No one will respect someone who becomes a leader to be famous, but everyone will respect someone who is famous because of leadership.

Leaders are classified as eagles and eagles don’t just fly, they learn to fly by falling. What matters after falling is getting back up.” @Tawananyasha Takaendisa 2I

“I’m dying… and so are you! Many die before actually dying a physical death. Fear of failure and taking risks holds people back and therefore we sometimes never really live.” @Ngonidzashe Man’ombe L6S

“Learn to walk through your pain and never, never give up.” @Cleopatra Chigumba L6S

“GLS 2018 was packed with powerful speakers who presented topical, enriching and God-inspired leadership skills for me as an educator. Leadership in education is discipleship and provides opportunities to lead that young generation to the Godly Kingdom. As educators, we must delegate power to our students and not just tasks. We must make learners feel empowered with our teaching approaches to them” @Mr J. Jaravani

“I was greatly moved during the interview of Mr Strive Masiyiwa by Bishop T. D. Jakes. I learnt that standing up for what is right, as long as you hold on to your values and principles from the Bible, God will see you through. In another session, John Maxwell clearly outlined the characteristics of all leaders but the most touching aspect was when he referred to “where the ceiling of my potential is the floor of my God Room”. God increases what we are doing to even more.” @Mr M. Chigudu

“The GLS turned out to be an exhilarating and dynamic intellectual milieu.” @Mr T. Mashungu

Reflection “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
